It's Saturday morning and I just realized that it has has been two and a half weeks since my last post. 5% of me thinks it's a burden to keep up with the posts (in addition to writing my monthly newsletter for work) but the other 95% understands the importance AND actually feels some therapeutic powers from putting my thoughts down for the world to see.
I write of course for the exposure and to further my business interests, but like weightlifting there is a residual effect after I finish. My mind is clear and I have the peace of mind that I accomplished a minor goal and can look forward to the next step, be it another post or a step up in the amount of weight I lift - http://tinyurl.com/67mf5w
Everyone should find time to write. Maybe you don't want to write a book (I enjoyed the writing of "The Job Nobody Dreams Of" but hated the editing and publishing parts) but there are dozens of other ways in which you can bring out your inner Steven King or John Grisham.
Your company newsletter, church bulletin, letter to the editor of your local newspaper are just three examples. Create your own blog. A great way to create content is interview someone or share some experience you've had. Two things on editing: read it out loud and read it a day later. Time seems to make obvious mistakes that you need to correct, more obvious.
I write for business and I write for fun and I write for reasons that are not always understood. The point is I write and you should too!
Happy Selling!
