It's probably weird that a father with two sons in college dwells on the need for a college degree but this is something I am passionate about. Last summer I wrote the first of two posts about degrees - Told You So.
Going to college does have it's advantages but there is new data to further suggest it is not the guaranteed investment so many people have come to believe - Is College Worth It. The important point the article makes is the degree itself doesn't guarantee...showing up to college for 4 years will not necessarily get you a job that you can just show up for over the next 20 years. You need to distinguish yourself and showcase skills that can't easily be duplicated or outsourced.
Something to think about as those acceptance letters show up over the next couple of months.
